July 07, 2015, Jupiter, Florida, U.S.A., Stewart Materials, Inc. announced it has supplied in excess of 2,000 tons of custom beach sand to Sandbox Volleyball and C to C Sand Volleyball Training for “The Sandbox”, a 9-court sand volleyball facility. The Sandbox is located at the Jungle Club, a full service family-fitness center in Vero Beach, Florida. Stewart Materials Chief Executive Officer Nick Stewart comments, “This was a unique project that again evidences the varied uses for our custom materials.”
In early 2015, Stewart Materials successfully supplied nearly 400,000 tons of custom beach sand for two projects in Palm Beach County, Florida. 338,495 tons of Stewart Materials beach sand was placed on Jupiter Beach. 56,183 tons were placed south of the Jupiter project, on Singer Island. April 29, 2015, Jupiter, Florida, U.S.A., Stewart Materials, Inc., (SMI) today announced it has successfully supplied nearly 400,000 tons of custom beach sand for two projects in Palm Beach County. Widely acknowledged as the thought leader, supplying inland sourced beach sand for large beach renourishment projects; Stewart Materials supplied 338,495 tons of sand for placement on Jupiter Beach and 56,183 tons for Singer Island.
In early November, the Palm Beach County began hauling 200,000 cubic yards of sand for a beach renourishment project south of Jupiter Inlet. Approximately 120 truckloads of sand per day will travel from a mine in St. Lucie County via I-95 and Indiantown Road to a staging area in Carlin Park. The trucks will avoid hauling during the peak morning rush hour in order to minimize impacts on traffic.
The $2.7 million beach renourishment project on Naples beaches saw the taillights of the last sand delivery truck yesterday. The project was completed in 19 hauling days, exceeding the expectations of all concerned. The project had been anticipated to be completed by the Christmas holidays which are still a few weeks away.
