Nick Stewart already has an empty spot picked out to stockpile the sand he plans to make for truck haulers to deliver to Naples beaches. It’s in a corner of the white sandy production area at the Stewart Mine north of Immokalee, where crews put tons of sand in towering piles every day for everything from building roads to maintaining golf courses.

Bathtub Beach is back in business, although beachgoers may notice things look different from what they did before it closed.


To ensure the safety of MacArthur Boulevard, Martin County has restored a protective dune at Bathtub Beach and will continue to assess approaching storms to determine if and when additional work is required.
