Stewart Materials Names Oniel Gardner Vice President Exploration, Quality Assurance & Operational Support

March 9, 2015, Jupiter, Florida, U.S.A., Stewart Materials, Inc. (SMI) today announced Oniel Gardner was recently named Vice President of Exploration, Quality Assurance and Operational Support. Oniel has served more than 15 years as Stewart Materials’ in-house Geologist and Chief Technical Officer. Gardner was tapped for the senior management post to reflect the evolving role he plays in shaping the future of one of the largest suppliers of inland sourced, process-controlled materials in the state of Florida.

Stewart Materials Chief Executive Officer and Founder Nick Stewart commented, “Oniel has done a tremendous job.  Beyond his excellence as a geologist, is the valuable work he does helping to define the vision of what Stewart Materials will become in this next phase of our existence.” Stewart pointed specifically to Gardner’s work as benefiting Stewart Materials rise as a leading supplier of materials for complex, large-scale beach renourishment projects within the state of Florida.

Commenting on the position and promotion Oniel Gardner stated, “This doesn’t fundamentally change what I do.  My goal every day is to do the best I can to position this company for graceful dominance. We do the work to be the best.” He continued, “In that sense, today is like any other.”  In addition to his expanded duties as a senior leadership team member, Oniel Gardner has direct oversight for all exploration, mapping and testing of aggregate materials, quality control and safety management, process design and control and production management. Oniel Gardner obtained a Structural and Engineering Geology (Honors) degree from the University of the West Indies.
